My bass season starts in May with the newly added catch & release season that opens the last Saturday in April.  This season opened last year in 2006 for the first time.  Few people new how exciting this could be fishing the heavily concentrated smallmouth bass in Lake St.Clair.  These fish at this time of year respond better to tube jigs, spinnerbaits, & topwater lures then they do when the regular season opens, and the water warms causing the fish to disperse from their spawning areas.  The size of fish and numbers at this time are astonishing.  You owe it to yourself to come check this out.
